Good Morning, Earth! :-)
| This is your Daily Petabyte |
| a lesson plan for daily exercise of body and mind |
Daily Petabyte is the front end for a nascent video and audio podcast focusing on a small daily dose of Tai Chi exercise and related elements from life, the arts, technology and business.
The golden rule of life (this is the other golden rule) is to be happy what you're doing...and while I might be able to focus on one subject or skill, I feel happier reviewing many things. Think "renaissance man"...while I in no way equate myself with the ideal of polymaths, I believe that a broad learning and observation of many facets of life are necessary for developing a well-rounded idea about life and human inter-relations. Following on this, a "Liberal Arts" education for our young people can, while not developing skills in particular sectors, help to develop a broad sense of learning and an ability to keep learning, reading and adapting throughout life.
The name Daily Petabyte comes from two directions: we must remember to be happy on a daily basis, despite shades of poverty or family deaths or lousy weather; and, we must look to the future while working in the present and reminiscing about the past - in the past, kilobyte (KB) was the tech term we lived by, in the present the megabyte, gigabyte and terabyte (MB, GB & TB) are the by-words...and in the near future, the petabyte (PB) will be as prevalent as the GB and TB are today.
Each of the pages on this wiki will be for a different podcast - initially envisioned as a short video to be accompanied by an mp3 audio file for those without video capabilities on their preferred device.
The initial date for these broadcasts will be posted to this page.

The Tech: how are you blogging, podcasting or receiving content?
When I ask people if they use an iPod...they may say "oh, yeah, I love listening to all my music"...or they may say "oh, I've never had time to listen to music".
Oh, really? What about the radio...do you listen to that? To NPR? To the morning news blurbs? Now....think "podcasts".... :-) But think beyond radio. Think about a daily dose of "People" magazine, "MacWorld" magazine, "Forbes" magazine, the Bible, the Koran, the I-Ching and other classics. And think about listening to those while walking the dog, planting bulbs in your fall flower beds, driving to work or reading yourself to sleep.
Structure:
1. Saying
2. Definition
3. Observation
4. Exercise
5. Books
6. vids/podcasts
